Most sign-in problems are a mistyped email or password, or using a different sign-in method from the one the account was made with. You can reset a forgotten password from the sign-in screen.
Forgotten password
- On the sign-in screen, type your email address in the Email box.
- Tap Forgot password? under the Sign in button.
- Open the email we send you and follow the link to choose a new password.
If you tap Forgot password? before typing your email, the app asks you to type it first.
What the message means
| What the app tells you | What it means |
|---|---|
| That email and password don’t match | One of them is wrong. Check for typing mistakes, or reset the password |
| No account with that email yet | Check the spelling of the address, or create an account |
| That email already has an account | You are creating an account that already exists. Sign in instead |
| Pick a longer password | A password needs at least 6 characters |
| That doesn’t look like an email address | Check the address for a typing mistake |
| Enter your email and password first | One of the two boxes is empty |
You used Google or Apple before
An account made with Continue with Google or Continue with Apple is opened the same way each time, not with a password typed into the app. Use the button you used the first time.
Continue with Apple is shown on iPhone and iPad only. An account made with Apple can only be opened on one of those.
You were sorting as a guest
A guest has no email or password, so there is nothing to sign in with. If you signed out as a guest, or deleted the app, those sets cannot be brought back. To avoid this in future, create an account from inside the app. See Guest mode and keeping your sets safe.
Nothing happens when you tap
Signing in needs an internet connection. Check yours and try again.
You deleted your account
After an account is deleted, it cannot be signed in to again. You can create a new one, which starts empty. See Deleting your account.
For the ways to sign in, see Creating an account, signing in and signing out.
