Using the app without a signal

BrickSorter needs an internet connection for most things. A short gap in the signal while you are placing pieces is fine: each piece is recorded on the phone at once, and saved to your account when the connection is there.

What carries on through a gap

In a sort that is already open, you can keep placing pieces, skipping and undoing. Each piece is saved to your account a couple of seconds after you tap it. If there is no connection at that moment, the saving has to wait until there is.

For anything longer than a short gap, get back online before you carry on. That way your latest progress reaches your account before you close the app or change device.

What needs a connection

  • Signing in and creating an account.
  • Looking up a set by number, browsing sets and adding a set.
  • Both scanners. A scan sends a photo to our servers and waits for the answer.
  • Build ideas.
  • Buying pieces, subscribing to Pro and restoring purchases.
  • Deleting your account. If there is no connection, the app says so and nothing is removed.

Starting a new sort and ending one also save to your account, so do those with a connection too.

If your sets do not load

When the app opens, Home may say that it could not load your sets. Check your connection and tap Try again. Nothing has been lost. Your sets are still saved.

If the app says something went wrong

Tap Try again. If it keeps happening, close the app and open it again.

Messages that mention the connection

If a message tells you to check your internet or your connection, the app could not reach our servers or the store. Move to a better signal or join Wi-Fi, then try again.
