Cookie Policy

On this page

Last updated:

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to keep, so that the site can recognise the same browser again. Local storage is a similar space in your browser where a site can leave itself a small note, which stays on your device and, unlike a cookie, is not sent back to the website with every page.

What this website stores

Name Set by What it is for How long it lasts Needs your consent?
bricksorter.cookies (local storage) This website Remembers your answer to the cookie notice, essential or all, so that we do not ask on every visit Until you change it or clear this site’s data in your browser No. It is how your choice is remembered
_ga (cookie) Google Analytics Tells one visitor from another, so that visits can be counted Up to 2 years Yes. Set only after “Accept all”
_ga_<container id> (cookie) Google Analytics Keeps the pages of one visit together Up to 2 years Yes. Set only after “Accept all”

In the last name, <container id> stands for the ID of our Google Analytics account, so the cookie’s name is _ga_ followed by letters and numbers.

That is all of it. On your first visit a notice offers two buttons, and nothing is stored until you press one:

  • Only essential saves that answer and nothing else. Google Analytics is never loaded.
  • Accept all saves that answer and loads Google Analytics, which sets the two cookies above.

There are no advertising cookies on this website, and nothing from social networks.

What the analytics are for

Google Analytics counts page views and which buttons are clicked, such as the App Store and Google Play buttons. That tells us which pages get used. Its advertising features and remarketing are switched off. The Privacy Policy says what Google receives.

The app

The BrickSorter app does not use cookies. It keeps your sign-in, and a copy of your sets for when there is no signal, in its own storage on your phone or tablet. The Privacy Policy says what the app collects.

Changing your choice

You can change your choice whenever you like with this button:

If you change to “Only essential”, Google Analytics is switched off on this website and its cookies are removed from your browser.

Clearing cookies in your browser

You can also delete or block cookies and site data in your browser’s privacy settings; if you clear this site’s data, the notice will ask for your choice again on your next visit.

More

The Privacy Policy covers everything else we collect, on this website and in the app. If you have a question, write to support@bricksorter.app or use the contact form.
