Tap Restart now. The app opens again on the newer version, and your sets and progress are untouched.
Where the message appears
In Settings, near the top, a box says A newer version is ready, with a Restart now button under it.
Why the app does not update itself
The app fetches improvements while you use it, but it never restarts by itself, so a sort is not interrupted. A newer version starts in one of two ways:
- you tap Restart now in Settings; or
- you close the app fully and open it again.
So if something was meant to be fixed and still looks the same, open Settings. The app looks for a newer version when you open that tab. If one has arrived, the message appears.
Will anything be lost?
No. Your progress is saved as you go, a couple of seconds after each piece. Restarting only loads the app again. Give it a few seconds after your last tap before you restart.
Checking which version you have
At the bottom of Settings, under About, a line shows the version number. If the app has been updated since it was installed, the line also says when.
Updates from the App Store or Google Play
Some updates arrive through the App Store or Google Play, like any other app’s. Install those in the usual way.
