How pieces are counted

A piece counts when it is put in a tub, whether you tap it in or a scan puts it away. The count belongs to your account and does not start again. A mistake put right within 10 minutes costs nothing.

What counts and what does not

  • One piece placed in a tub is one piece counted.
  • Skipping a piece, marking a piece as missing and adding sets count nothing.
  • Nothing is counted while Pro is running.

Taking a piece out again

You take a piece out by tapping −, by tapping Undo, or by removing its set.

When the piece comes out What happens to your count
Within 10 minutes of going in It comes off in full. The piece never counted
Later than that It still comes off, up to a fair number of pieces over the life of your account. A mess found the next day is forgiven; sorting the same pile again and again is not
After that allowance is used up The count stays as it is. If you put the piece back, it counts again

The 10 minutes are remembered only while the app stays open. If the app is closed and opened again in between, the piece comes out of that allowance.

Sorting a set again

If you finish a set and later start it again with Sort it again, the pieces you sorted in it before are not counted a second time. A piece that was marked as missing the first time does count when you sort it.

Removing a set and adding it again is different. The app treats it as a new set, and its pieces count. See Finished sets and sorting a set again.

Where to see your count

Tap Settings and find Pieces left, under Pieces. The sort screen does not show it, so you are not sorting with a counter in front of you. Home tells you when you are running low.

Two devices

The count is kept with your account. Two devices signed in to the same account share it.

Refunds

If a purchase is refunded, the pieces it added are taken off your account.
