Labelling your tubs and how many to use

Give each tub a letter, starting at A, and tell the app how many tubs you have. That number is how many sets it sorts at the same time.

Label the tubs

  1. Gather your containers. Tubs, bowls and boxes all work.
  2. Stick a letter on each one: A, B, C and so on.
  3. In the app, tap + or − until the number matches the tubs you have. The screen shows which letters to use.
  4. Tap They’re labelled — next.

This is one of the steps the app takes you through the first time you use it.

How many tubs to use

  • The app starts at one tub for each set you added, up to five.
  • You can use any number from 1 to 26. The limit is 26 because each tub has a single letter, A to Z.
  • The number of tubs is the number of sets sorted at once. With one tub, you sort one set at a time.

If you have more sets than tubs

That is fine. The app sorts as many sets as you have tubs and keeps the rest waiting. When a tub is finished, the next set moves in. Nothing is forgotten. See More sets than tubs.

Keep one extra tub with no letter

The app suggests keeping one more tub without a label. Use it for pieces you notice that have not been asked for yet. They will be easy to find when their set’s turn comes.

Keep the labels on

A letter is used again when its set is finished. The app asks you to empty the tub and put it back with the same label.

Changing your mind later

You can change the number of tubs at any time, even in the middle of a sort. See Changing how many tubs you have. To understand what the letters mean on screen, read How the lettered tubs work.
